IEEE CBI 2023 conference brought the news in Business Informatics

21. 7. 2023

On 21–23 June 2023, FIT CTU organized the 25th-anniversary edition of the IEEE International Conference on Business Informatics (IEEE CBI 2023). The conference offered lectures where researchers from all over the world talked about new developments in business informatics. Many papers brought theoretical and practical views, perspectives, and ways of thinking about the current challenges of digital transformation. The event also included workshops and a CBI scientific forum.

The IEEE CBI 2023 conference, which was attended by 35 participants from all over the world at FIT CTU, brings together scientists and experts from various fields. It also functions as a hub for multidisciplinary research in Management Science, Organization Science, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, and Informatics. The programme included lectures by scientists, a scientific forum and workshops.

“Many interesting papers were presented at the conference by experts from all over the world. It was obvious that there is a community of experts in Business Informatics who meet on different occasions. They could discuss the issues informally during the Thursday tour of Prague,” summarized the event Ing. Petra Pavlíčková, Ph.D., Vice-Dean for Development and Deputy Head of the Business Informatics Center.

Among the keynote speakers was Massimiliano Masi, who spoke on “Securing Critical Infrastructures with a cybersecurity digital twin”. Participants also had the opportunity to listen to Vinay Kulkarni, who elaborated on “Toward AI Enabled Enterprise”, and Václav Řepa, who gave a talk on “Philosophical Framework for Business System Modeling”.

The lectures were devoted to seven thematic areas – Contextual Modeling, (Industrial) Internet of Things, Data-Based Engineering, IT Management, Design Science Research, Privacy and Security, and Software Engineering. The faculty organized the CBI Science Forum for the second time due to its great success last year. It gave the authors invited to the conference the opportunity to present their work and receive feedback that will enable them to direct their research efforts further.

The conference is held by the IEEE TCBIS (Technical Committee on Business Informatics and Systems), which has been organizing it since 1998.
