10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting a Data-science Career

On Oct. 9, from 18:00, we invite you to the lecture called 10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting a Data-science Career. Marcel Krčah, a Big Data expert, will guide you through his rich career and provide you with useful tips about a data-science career. This lecture takes place at T9:111 and it is held in English.

During the lecture, Marcel will give you a few hard-won tips from his ongoing career in IT and Big Data. Based mostly on failures, perhaps “battle scars” would be a better term. This talk won’t be technical. Instead, Marcel will focus on things that he hasn’t had a chance to learn at university and had to experience the hard way—in the wildlife of work.

About the Lecturer

Marcel Krčah – profileMarcel Krčah is a Big Data team lead, a senior polyglot software engineer, and a trainer. Revolved around data, his career has been a ride full of experiments and failures: conducting academic research, performing top-tier management consultancy, bootstrapping a SaaS startup, crafting software.

These days, Marcel helps companies to kick-off big data projects and to industrialize data science proof of concepts. As of now, he works for Air France KLM, helping a team of 30+ data scientists to reach faster time-to-market with increased product quality. His unusual combination of experience gives Marcel outcome-oriented and business perspective on how to deliver value to clients.
