Bachelor and Master Timetable for the Winter Semester 2016/2017

The winter semester is from October 1, 2016 to February 19, 2017. Classes start on October 3, 2016, the first week is even. The examination period is from January 9 to February 17, 2017. The final state examinations are within the period of February 6–17, 2017. For evaluations of the claim to the merit scholarship for the winter semester, the study results stored in the KOS on the date of evaluation are included, i.e. until mid-March 2017.

Instruction Period

Classes are in 13 instruction weeks: from October 3 to December 21, 2016 and from January 2 to 7, 2017. Students have to obtain winter semester assessments by the end of the instruction period, i.e. until January 7. 2017. Course guarantors may extend this deadline for their courses, but no later than by the end of the examination period, i.e. until February 17, 2017.

In accordance with the calendar, the first instruction week is even. The semester consists of 6 even and 7 odd weeks. Winter holidays are in an even week and the first week in January is odd.

Examination Period

An examination period lasts 6 weeks. Winter semester exams can be taken by the end of the winter semester, i.e. until February 19, 2017. Course guarantors may announce dates for taking their exams in the summer semester, but no later than the end of the summer semester examination period, i.e. until June 30, 2017.

Days off and Vacation

During the instruction period, classes are canceled due to public holidays. Dean’s Day is announced on December 22, 2016 and winter holidays are within the period of December 23, 2016 – January 1, 2017.

Winter holidays

Final State Examinations

Only students who meet the deadlines can take final state examinations in the winter semester. If students don’t manage to submit their final theses in due time, they may submit them by the end of the examination period, i.e. until February 17, 2017. However, these students cannot take the FSEs before the next semester.
